to be honest, today was a mixed bag.
on one hand, we had some amazing, unforgettable moments. for lunch, we ate authentic cajun seafood gumbo over rice with potato salad. the gumbo was filled with sausage, crab, and shrimp. and it was delicious. we went through roughly 5 gallons of gumbo, 20 pounds of potato salad, rice, and crackers in about 20 minutes. i'm sure the cook was flattered. and in the evening, we hit the beach for a cook-out and much deserved rest, relaxation, and recreation.
on the other hand, the day was incredibly hot and some students were dragging through the work on different occasions (not yours though). we are hoping that a good night's rest and cooler temperatures tomorrow will enable us to reach a point that we can finish our projects by friday.
here are some of the projects that we have been working on:
kuhn house - installing a platform 15 feet in the air to house the a/c unit. the platform has been finished and attached to the wall. we should complete the project tomorrow as we attach the cables and decking.
micelli house - we have scraped, caulked, and primed the outside of the house and mudded the interior walls. tomorrow, we should be applying texture and beginning to apply the primer to the interior. hoping to paint on friday (Lord-willing).
galvin's house - scraped and primed the soffets and facea. scraped and primed the shed. began sanding the finish of the wood paneled walls in the kitchen. we hope to finish sanding tomorrow and hang kitchen cabinets before we leave.
ms georgia's house - scraped, primed, and painted a deck.
clc thrift store - we have been running electricity to a new addition to house the ever-expanding thrift store.
kitchen - our kitchen crew continues to deliver fabulous meals under the supervision of martha mcgraw at each and every meal.
pray for cooler temperatures.
pray for God's Spirit to work in the students' lives as He calls them to make life-changing decisions.
